AAR BATTLE REPORT MISSION 4 weird ww2 - EVERY TOWN HAS ITS SECRETS......

This game was played with homemade rules addapted made from the Flying Lead ruleset of Ganesha Games, set in a supernatural France that surrounds these games of the Second World War, and being part of a campaign starring Sergeant Reickhart of the 101st Airborne.

Episode one - In no man's land

Sergeant Reickhart's unit is recruited to advance to the small town of Sans-du-Voix, which is located in no man's land between the two fronts. Observers have seen movements of German troops nearby, although they appear to have left the town. Two days ago High Command sent a unit in recognition and have not seen them again.

The paratroopers advance between the houses covered by darkness, encountering neither opposition nor any inhabitant of the town.

They reach the first point of interest revealing a German patrol made up of three soldiers who were advancing down the street, a brief firefight starts between both sides, ending with the three Germans dead and one of the American soldiers wounded.

They advance quickly to the next point of interest, finding three American soldiers who were part of the reconoissance unit and who were hidden in the town, when they heard the gunshots next to them, left a small basement where they were hiding, joining Sergeant Reickhart´s group.

At that moment, and attracted by the gunshots, a German unit made up of a corporal and four soldiers appear and start to shoot from a cover.

After the gunshot, the five Germans fall dead, claiming the lives of three American paratroopers.

After this skirmish they advance towards the remaining points of interest, finding a wounded German soldier hidden behind some boxes. This soldier tells them that he was part of a unit of 10 men who were advancing through the city, finding a group of hungry villagers asking for help.

When they let their guard down and were talking to the villagers, when less expected, they took out weapons that they had hidden (German and American weapons), killing several of their companions before the rest were taken as prisoners.

He was able to run away, being wounded by a shot, and instead of leaving the area he remained in the surroundings, watching his companions being taken to a nearby cemetery.

Of course he can tell them where the cemetery is ...

Episode two - On consecrated land

Sergeant Reickhart's unit advances in the dark, covered by forest and a stone wall. They can see a couple of stone mausoleums, although nobody is seen nearby.

One of the soldiers advances to reveal a point of interest, finding two people dressed in white robes, their faces covered and armed with American weapons, shooting at the soldier.

This soldier falls under the surprise enemy fire, and although the rest of the soldiers attack them with fury quickly they cannot avoid that that soldier dies in combat and another one is wounded before killing the two persons dressed in robes.

They proceed cautiously to the next point of interest, encountering two lost American soldiers who belonged to the missing unit who had sought refuge in the forest.

The entire unit approaches a small chapel from which a faint glow comes out of the windows. in silence they get close to the windows, seeing a Dantesque scene inside that takes their breath away.

A group of unarmed German soldiers on their knees are in the center of the room surrounded by several people dressed in white robes and obviously armed. One of these people who apparently belong to a sect is chanting some kind of ritual, while the rest watch over the unarmed soldiers chanting the same words quietly.

The sectaries (drawing a roll) discover the American soldiers in the windows, several of them running out of the chapel and firing, falling under the fire of our protagonists, butkilling one of them before. The paratroopers that are in the windows shoot down two cultists and injure another.

In the next turn, before the paratroopers can react, the three cultists shoot down the group of frightened German soldiers, who fallto the ground in a huge pool of blood.

The American soldiers shoot through the windows, killing the three remaining cultists, who fall to the ground, mixing their blood with that of the German soldiers.

the soldiers enter the chapel watching the dantesque scene with the mountain of corpses and blood, with the smell of smoke still in the air, and then they realize something ...

They notice how a slight stream of air begins to move in the room, and they see the blood on the floor move fluidly, like hiding under the corpses, various leaves, dust and dirt rise in the air forming a whirlpool with the increasing current of air...

Soldiers squint, shielding their eyes from the increasing streak of air, dust, and dirt, when suddenly ...

... from the darkness on one side an impossible figure seems to emerge, a kind of being that is hidden under a yellow robe, although it does not seem to have anything human, as soon as it appears it launches its tentacles against the terrified soldiers.

One of the soldiers is caught by the tentacles, falling amid cries of terror as his companions flee from the chapel, shooting incessantly, against the being who struggles to leave the chapel, seizing another soldier who suffers the same fate as his companion.

After several turns shooting non-stop, suddenly, the being makes some kind of cry that sounds like a gust of wind passing between some planks but at an atrocious volume, only to disappear into the darkness of one of the corners of the entrance to the chapel.

The three surviving soldiers, completely terrified, march trying to return to the location of the American troops, wondering if they would be able to tell what happened in this small town ...

... a small town, that as every town has its secrets ...

AAR BATTLE REPORT MISSION 3 weird ww2 FIRE PURIFIES

A new mission that follows the adventures of Sergeant Reickhart and his unit through an occupied France....

Episode 1 keep silent

Our unit under Sergeant Reickhart's command continues advancing in the battlefield.

They are informed of the movement of Nazi troops near the small town of Vilens, apparently it may be an incursion by a small contingent of soldiers.

As they advance through the woods they see a small farm with a German half-track and a few soldiers in the surroundings.

The airborne soldiers approach unnoticed covered by trees and the sdkfz. The soldier, knife in hand, approaches one of the Nazis who is guarding.

With a slight noise it attracts him to his position, catching him by surprise and cutting his throat, giving him no chance to scream and raise the alarm.

With one of the soldiers down, the allies take two different positions from which attack the other four Germans.

In a turn and a half three of the four Nazi soldiers die, leaving the fourth seriously wounded and unable to fight back the advance of the allied unit.

On the next turn he dies under Allied fire.

The five German soldiers die thanks to the surprise attack of the allied unit that only has one paratrooper wounded among them.

Once eliminated, they release a family that was being held on the farm.

This family tells them that another group of soldiers marched several hours ago taking with them their two young children. They think they heard them say they were looking for a cemetery. There is a cemetery that is located just six kilometers away from the farm.

The soldiers search the half-track and find documents and maps that indicate a location a few kilometers away, perhaps it could be the cemetery ...

Episode 2 The cemetery

After marching through the woods towards that location, the soldiers check that it corresponds to a cemetery.

Upon arrival they see several soldiers, and next to them they see a truck in which two children cry. The soldiers are around several coffins that appear to have been taken out from an old mausoleum.

Our soldiers move forward taking positions covered by the cemetery wall

As they approach they see the group of soldiers around an open coffin, a corpse rests inside, a high-rank officer dressed in a suit and black leather coat mumbles some kind of chant that he is reading from a small book he holds in his hands.

Allied soldiers attack by surprise, killing one Nazi and injuring two more.

But they can't stand a second attack.

Two other Nazis, covered behind the truck, shoot an airborne soldier and Sergeant Reickhart, afterwards one of the nazis is shot down.

The allied soldiers advance in formation, killing the last German standing.

Once they have killed the German soldiers, they open the truck freeing two children, ages 8 and 10, who will be returned to their parents on the farm.

Among the documents that the German officer has, they find a notebook with many handwritten notes, pagan rites, signs and many indications.

These notes reveal that this German unit was on the trail of a man who died years ago, accused of having murdered several children and having drained their blood affected by some kind of mental illness.

He was lynched by residents of the town, and according to the documents, he was buried in a crypt with a stake pierced through his chest ...

The soldiers look at the corpse in the coffin, which has a big hole in the chest, and see a stake lying on the ground besides the coffin...

Without been able to even open their mouths, the soldiers look at Sergeant Reickhart.

The commanding officer of the unit, grabs the stake from the ground and nails it with a strong blow to the corpse's chest, separates from the coffin and stares at it ...

While lighting a cigarette he orders his men "Burn the body ... Fire purifies ..."
